House in Żywiec is an attempt to look for an alternative to the surrounding shoddy architecture in summer resort of southern Polish. It is supposed to provide a formal and spatial alternative to the prefabricated summer cottages broadly offered in the Beskidy Mountains. The house is designed within the regulations of the local masterplan and is embedded in the specific context of a garden, surrounding panorama and low budget. The design is influenced by the idea of critical regionalism as a response to the local geographical situation with contemporary language of architecture.
